My given name's McGowan I walk around the Tow (a) n (?) sometimes with a smile and sometimes with a frow(a)n (?) John would invariably greet me with this doggerel, over a very long time -sometimes it involved trousers being up or dow(a)n (Don't ask!) It was always a bit of a challenge to try and come up with a true rhyme - he never managed it. So, on this occasion I'm prepared to drop the 'a' to make it easier! But- back to the first ode - the smile is for imagining JC using a bit of eternity and heavenly access to many great poets to finally nail the bon mot, and the frown's for the fact that he's not on either side of the bar to spring it on me! My given name is Clay I've recently passed away but don't think that's the end of it McGowan without the 'a'!
