So sad. I didn't know John as well as most on here, but he was a top chap, witty, gentle and a perfect host in the post Albion drinks sessions in the Battle of Trafalgar. I remember first meeting him when I first moved to Brighton in 1990 in the Sussex Yeoman and Jamie was working behind the bar? Did the best pop quizzes in Brighton as I remember. Then later enjoying the double act banter between him and Paul Hodson when he came to see Fever Pitch. He was one of the good guys and he will be much missed. So sorry I can't be at the funereal but will raise a glass or three for him in memory.
