John's Tribute Fund

Created by James 16 years ago
Welcome to John Clay’s Tribute Fund. John sadly left us on 28th September, 2007, having been suffering with Motor Neurone Disease since the beginning of the year. John touched so many people’s lives through his gifts for music and teaching, and through his humour and generous spirit. We have created this page to help raise money for the MND Association, and so that his friends and family can share their thoughts and feelings in the guestbook. Please consider making an online donation. All money raised on these pages will be earmarked as being donations made via this Tribute Fund when they reach the Motor Neurone Disease Association. You can also help us raise money for this Tribute Fund by creating an online sponsorship page to mark a special event or occasion. Simply choose one of the links above to see what you can do. We also want to acknowledge the wonderful support we have had from the Martlets Hospice and its staff. We want to help raise awareness of the great work they do. With the help of John’s friends we raised over £1500 for the Martets at the Brunswick in October 2007. If you live around Brighton and Hove, you can find the Martlets fund raising shops on Church Street and North Street (full list here at www.themartlets.org.uk/retail). Continuing the good work, Andy White and John’s friends from the Prestonville in Brighton raised over £600 for the MND Association with an evening of music on December 1st. More recently in January 2008 Geoff Hearn and Nigel Thomas with the Brighton Blues Corporation have raised another whopping £592 for MND research with another concert at the Brunswick in Hove. It is great to be reminded of how John's life was filled with music and how much joy he brought to those around him. Thank you to everyone who keeps contributing, attending and performing. You are warmly welcome to sign the guest book and please do forward the link www.justgiving.com/johnclay and tell other people about this service. Kind Regards, Teresa & James Clay
